Spotify 2025 Wrapped: India's Top Streams & New Features

Spotify has officially launched its much-anticipated 2025 Wrapped experience, offering users across India and the globe a deep, interactive dive into their personal listening history from the past year. This marks the seventh consecutive year of the feature's availability in India, and the 2025 edition introduces nearly a dozen new tools designed to deliver a more personalized and layered snapshot of each user's audio journey.

New Personalized Features in 2025 Wrapped

Eligible users can now access their personalized 2025 Wrapped story directly within the Spotify app on iOS and Android devices. This year's version grants listeners greater control, allowing them to choose the pace at which they explore their data and revisit highlights without having to restart the entire experience.

While classic elements like Top Genres, Top Artist Sprint, and the annual Top Song Quiz make a return, Spotify has rolled out several innovative new features. A standout addition is 'Listening Age', which compares a listener's favorite song years with the preferences of others in their age group. Other notable new tools include a 'Top Albums' section spotlighting the records users revisited most, a 'Fan Leaderboard' showing where one ranks among global fans of their top artist, and 'Clubs' that group users based on unique listening styles.

The experience is further enriched by a 'Listening Archive', offering AI-generated daily snapshots of memorable listening moments, and a 'Wrapped Party' mode, an interactive game that turns listening stats into a live activity with friends. Users also receive their 'Your Top Songs 2025' playlist, which explicitly shows how many times they streamed each of their top 100 tracks.

India's 2025 Streaming Landscape: Romance and I-Pop Rule

An analysis of this year's streaming data reveals fascinating trends for the Indian market. Romance was the defining mood of the year, with love ballads dominating the country's top 10 songs list. The independent music scene, or I-Pop (Indie Pop), continued its strong growth nationwide. Artists like Aditya Rikhari and Kushagra made significant breakthroughs, while established names such as Faheem Abdullah and Jasleen Royal returned to the top charts, underscoring the influence of homegrown talent.

As expected, playback legend Arijit Singh held his position as India's most-streamed artist for the seventh year in a row. He was followed by composers Pritam and Shreya Ghoshal. The top 10 was rounded out by A R Rahman, Anirudh Ravichander, Sachin-Jigar, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Tanishk Bagchi, and Masoom Sharma.

The title of the year's most-streamed track in India went to 'Raanjhan' from the film 'Do Patti' by Sachet-Parampara, which amassed over 246 million streams. Other popular songs included 'Finding Her', 'Saiyaara', 'Sahiba', 'Ishq', 'Jo Tum Mere Ho', 'Ishq Hai', 'Apna Bana Le', and 'Tere Bina'. Soundtracks maintained their dominance, with 'Saiyaara' by Tanishk Bagchi emerging as the most-streamed album of 2025. The 'Aashiqui 2' soundtrack held onto second place for another year.

Podcasts and Global Highlights

Podcast listening in India remained robust, with a clear preference for creator-led shows. 'Figuring Out with Raj Shamani' led the podcast charts for 2025, followed by 'The Horror Show by Khooni Monday', 'The Desi Crime Podcast', 'The Ranveer Show Hindi', and 'The Stories of Mahabharata'. The genres of horror, true crime, and self-help continued to be particularly popular among Indian listeners.

On the global stage, Bad Bunny was crowned Spotify's Top Artist of 2025, crossing a staggering 19.8 billion streams and reclaiming the title for the fourth time. The collaboration between Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, 'Die With A Smile', became the most-streamed song worldwide with over 1.7 billion streams. For the sixth consecutive year, 'The Joe Rogan Experience' remained the world's most-streamed podcast.

With the 2025 Wrapped, Spotify successfully blends nostalgia, data analytics, and personal storytelling, offering every user a unique portal to reflect on a year defined by music, podcasts, and unforgettable audio moments.
