The past week has been a whirlwind of emotions for singer Sanvi Sudeep. The official release of 'Masth Malaika' has marked her formal entry into Kannada film playback, a significant milestone made even more special as the song features in her father, superstar Kichcha Sudeep's, upcoming movie 'Mark'.
A Dream Debut and Studio Realities
Expressing her surreal feelings, Sanvi admitted the reality of her debut is still sinking in. While she is accustomed to live performances, she highlighted the distinct challenge of studio recording. "The mic picks up every nuance, demanding extreme awareness of breath control, diction, and sustained energy. It pushes you towards precision," she explained. Although she has previously released English music, this track holds a unique place as her official Kannada industry debut.
The song itself is a vibrant, high-energy number, a deliberate shift from her usual musical style. "This genre isn't exactly my forte, but I'm thrilled with the outcome. Witnessing people enjoy and share it online has been incredibly rewarding," Sanvi shared.
A Special Father-Daughter Collaboration
The project carries profound personal significance for Sanvi as it represents her first professional collaboration with her father. "I always envisioned singing for him one day. I'm grateful it materialized with 'Mark', a film he is deeply passionate about and has worked tirelessly on. Being part of his vision makes it extraordinary," she said.
Addressing the expectations that come with being a star kid, Sanvi clarified that her recording mindset was centered on performance, not pressure. "My focus was solely on delivering my best. The sessions were filled with fun and an upbeat vibe—I naturally groove to the rhythm while singing," she added. She also noted her improved comfort with singing in Kannada for this item song compared to earlier attempts.
Working with Maestros and Future Sounds
Sanvi had high praise for composer B Ajaneesh Loknath, describing him as a perfectionist who gives clear direction. "Having known him since childhood made me comfortable. He is immensely talented, and I value this opportunity," she stated.
The budding singer is not stopping here. She already has another song in the pipeline—a romantic track composed by Charan Raj. She described him as warm and encouraging, granting her creative liberty to explore her vocal range. "This upcoming song will reveal a softer dimension of my voice. I aspire to show that I'm not confined to a single genre and wish to keep experimenting and evolving as an artist," Sanvi concluded, signalling a promising and versatile journey ahead in playback singing.
