A tragic incident occurred in Faridabad's Ballabhgarh area on Wednesday morning when a 55-year-old woman lost her life after the washroom, which was constructed on a portion of her balcony, collapsed, burying her under debris. The accident took place around 6 am in Subhash Colony, where the victim, identified as Jayvati, had just entered the washroom when the structure gave way.
Investigation underway
Police are investigating the structural condition of the one-storey house and other factors that may have contributed to the collapse. According to family members and neighbours, the crash prompted people to rush out of their homes and begin clearing the rubble to rescue her. However, by the time she was pulled out, she had already succumbed to her injuries. Jayvati worked as a daily wager and was well-known in the locality. Adarsh Nagar station house officer Manoj Kumar confirmed that further proceedings are underway.
