The drama in the Jolie-Pitt family continues to escalate, with no signs of cooling down. Zahara, the daughter of former couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, recently made headlines after she dropped her father's surname from her name during her commencement ceremony. While the 50-year-old actress attended the event along with her children, Brad Pitt was notably absent.
Did Brad Pitt Contact Zahara for Graduation?
The estrangement between the 'Fight Club' actor and his children has long been a subject of Hollywood speculation. According to TMZ, Pitt did not contact his daughter Zahara or visit her to celebrate her achievement. The outlet reported, 'Nothing prevented him from showing up for her. Or ever visiting her. The day was about all she accomplished. Not whether he was willing to attend.' It added that Angelina Jolie and Zahara's siblings have always supported her throughout her four years at college. Moreover, Brad Pitt did not reach out to anyone to obtain a ticket for her graduation, which took place over the weekend.
Zahara Jolie Drops 'Pitt' from Her Official Name
Recently, Zahara earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Spelman College on May 17, 2026. Although she was listed as 'Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt' in the commencement program on the college's official website, she reportedly omitted the 'Pitt' part of her name. Previously, when she joined the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority in 2023, she introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie.
Other Siblings Who Do Not Use 'Pitt'
Interestingly, Zahara is not the only Jolie-Pitt sibling to drop their father's surname. Shiloh had filed a petition to legally change her name, while Vivienne referred to herself as 'Vivienne Jolie' when she starred in the musical adaptation of 'The Outsiders.' Meanwhile, Maddox Jolie removed Pitt from his name publicly while receiving credit as an assistant director on his mother's film, 'Couture.'
