Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, celebrated his 49th birthday on Monday, June 8, by unveiling a new track titled 'GEMINI SEASON' accompanied by a visually striking music video starring his wife, Bianca Censori. The release also brought exciting news for fans, as the YouTube description for the clip confirmed that the deluxe edition of his album 'BULLY' will drop on June 19.
'GEMINI SEASON' Video Features Bianca Censori
According to Billboard, 'GEMINI SEASON' functions more as a short trailer than a full-fledged song. Ye leans into melody over horns and wind instruments, with no drums driving the track. The lyrics center on desire, with Ye half-singing, 'I wanna get kinky/ I think she'll let me/ I think she's pretty/ I think she's ready.'
Bianca Censori directed the video and appears at its core. She wears an angel-white, scantily clad outfit comprising a corset and feathery lingerie. The clip shows her sitting on a barstool in front of a cow as she milks it, set against a backdrop of mountain scenery and fake moving clouds.
The visual style recalls Ye's 'Bound 2' video from the 'Yeezus' era. Ye appears near the end of the clip and pours a glass of milk into Censori's mouth. Some of the milk spills down her chest as the visual concludes.
'BULLY' Deluxe Release Date and Ye Tour Dates
The 'GEMINI SEASON' video also unveiled new music plans from Ye. The YouTube description stated that the deluxe edition of 'BULLY' will be released on June 19.
'BULLY' first arrived on March 28 through Larry Jackson's Gamma. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, behind BTS, with 152,000 total album units earned in its first week.
Censori also publicly celebrated Ye's birthday on Instagram Stories. She posted a solo picture of him in a black leather jacket and wrote, 'Happy birthday @ye I love you more than life.'
Ye continued his overseas mini-tour with the second of two Amsterdam shows at Gelredome Stadium on Monday. He is scheduled to perform in Georgia on June 12 before returning to the United States for two shows at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay on June 26 and June 28.
