Actress Tara Sutaria is set to play a pivotal role in the upcoming Yash starrer 'Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups,' directed by Geetu Mohandas. While attending the 79th Cannes Film Festival, she shared insights into her decision to join the project and what makes the film special to her.

Tara will portray Rebecca, a character described as charming yet dangerous. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the 'Apurva' actress expressed that the film brought her immense happiness and satisfaction. She emphasized the importance of choosing meaningful films over quantity, stating, "It doesn't bother me to do less work, I'd rather do good work. I'd rather do 10 Apurvas than do anything else." This mindset guided her to accept the role in 'Toxic.'

Strong Women in the Film

Tara spoke warmly about the women involved in the project, calling the experience very special. She noted that every woman in the cast exuded strength, style, and confidence. "All of the women in this film are fascinating. Everyone is fabulous and fearless," she said. She highlighted how rare it is to see women from different life stages and careers come together to celebrate each other on set. Tara added, "To witness all of us come together at different ages and stages of our lives and careers, and really celebrate each scene is incredible."

Praise for Yash and Geetu Mohandas

Tara also had kind words for her co-star Yash, describing him as an incredible actor and human being. She appreciates being on film sets characterized by honesty, purpose, and respect. Regarding director Geetu Mohandas, Tara noted that working under a woman director made a significant difference, creating a meaningful and comfortable atmosphere during filming.

'Toxic' also features Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth in key roles. Initially announced for release on June 4, the film has been postponed, with a new date yet to be announced.
