The Great Indian Kapil Show recently featured Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia amid their ongoing India's Got Latent controversy. However, it was veteran comedian Sunil Pal's special appearance that caught the audience's attention. Sunil and Samay have been engaged in an online feud, making their shared screen time highly anticipated. Now, Sunil has called out Navjot Singh Sidhu for allegedly being biased towards Samay Raina.
Sunil Pal's Allegations of Bias
Speaking to content creator Suraj Kumar, Sunil claimed he was treated unfairly on the show. He alleged that Navjot Singh Sidhu showed favoritism towards Samay Raina. Sunil stated that he was not given the opportunity to perform the stand-up set he had prepared. He also felt that both the audience's reactions and Sidhu's responses were biased.
Sunil elaborated, "Eventually, it's a Netflix show, and they thought their stars (Samay and Ranveer) are going through a downfall, so Netflix wanted to highlight them. How could they do that? By calling them on Kapil Sharma's show to put them in the limelight. They called me to boost TRPs. I was just standing there and didn't say anything."
Reason for Joining the Show
Sunil revealed why he joined the show despite his feud with Samay Raina. He said, "It was Kapil Sharma's show, not Samay or Ranveer's show. Even Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan go there, so what's shocking if I went there? I was invited to Kapil Sharma's show." He added that he had no prior knowledge of Samay's presence. "I was told the episode would feature stand-up comedians, and they might be there. I was also asked to come and perform a stand-up segment, not an interview. I had prepared a 15-minute-long sketch, and director Anukul had finalized it. After I reached, I learned the two were also there. I didn't get to perform my stand-up act. They even cut out the few jokes I cracked."
Criticism of Navjot Singh Sidhu's Reaction
Sunil specifically criticized Sidhu's reaction to Samay Raina's performance. He said, "Navjot Singh Sidhu, who has been listening to comedians for 20 years, reacted to a small joke from Samay, saying, 'Too good, you are the next Kapil.' Even Archana was not laughing at that joke; she is someone who, if paid, will also laugh at the wind. But if she didn't laugh, then I felt there was some planning."
