Sundar Pichai's Morning Routine: Tea, News, Omelette

In a previous interview, Google CEO Sundar Pichai shared insights into his daily morning routine, emphasizing simplicity and consistency. Speaking with journalist Kara Swisher in 2016, Pichai revealed that he wakes up between 6:30 and 7:00 AM. One of his first activities after waking is reading the news.

Breakfast and Morning Habits

Pichai noted that he is consistent with his breakfast every day. As a vegetarian, he prioritizes protein intake. "I always have an omelette in the morning with toast, tea, and read my paper. I do that every morning," he said. He prefers to take time in the morning to ease into the day, acknowledging that he is not a morning person.

Tea and Newspapers

When asked about his newspaper preference, Pichai replied, "I read the New York Times online." He also expressed his particularity about tea, stating, "I still am very particular about having my tea. It's very English, you know, I grew up in India."

Exercise Routine

Regarding exercise, Pichai mentioned that he does not work out in the morning. Instead, he exercises later in the day, usually in the evening, if he gets a chance. While he would like to exercise in the morning, he prefers to focus on reading and having tea first to prepare for the day.

Favorite Indian Foods

In another interview with Varun Mayya, founder of Aeos, Pichai discussed his travel habits and revealed his favorite Indian dishes. He diplomatically chose a dish from three major Indian cities. "When in Bengaluru, I will probably get a Dosa. It's my favorite food. If it's Delhi, Chole Bhature. And if it's Mumbai, I'll do a Pav Bhaji," he said.

This glimpse into Pichai's daily life highlights his disciplined yet simple approach to mornings and his fondness for diverse Indian cuisines.
