If industry buzz is any indication, Ssunita Ahuja, wife of Bollywood actor Govinda, is preparing for her debut in the reality television space. According to sources, she has been approached and tentatively confirmed as a contestant for the second season of the popular captive reality show Lock Upp, which is expected to stream on Netflix this time around.
The upcoming season is likely to begin production soon, marking Ssunita's first appearance as a participant on a reality show. We have learned that she has already started preparing for the show. Despite multiple attempts to reach her for comment, Ssunita remained unavailable.
About Lock Upp
For those unfamiliar, Lock Upp is a high-drama captive reality format created by Ekta Kapoor. In this show, controversial contestants are "jailed" together and pushed to reveal personal secrets, navigate tasks, and survive eliminations. The first season, hosted by Kangana Ranaut, saw Munawar Faruqui emerge as the winner. It originally streamed on Ekta's now-defunct platform ALTBalaji.
Hosting Changes
On the hosting front, while Ekta is keen to have Kangana return, scheduling conflicts—particularly her reported commitments to Queen 2—may make that difficult. There is also strong buzz that Ekta has initiated talks with Akshay Kumar, who could potentially step in as the host if things align.
Ssunita's Family Reunion
Recently, Ssunita patched up with Krushna Abhishek and Kashmera Shah. She said, "I finally reunited with Krushna and Kashmera. Vipul came to me twice, thrice inviting me to the show. I had spoken to Kashmera and Krushna earlier, but then I decided to do a surprise appearance; they were not informed that I was going. It was really nice to see them; they are my kids only."
"It has been 14 years since the rift. I didn't want to keep this burden in my heart, so I decided to forgive them. I was so happy to see my grandchildren for the first time. They are so sweet, and my heart was so happy seeing how they look like me. They are so good looking, and God bless them," she added.
