The much-anticipated rustic sports drama 'Peddi,' featuring global star Ram Charan and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, is preparing for a grand worldwide release on June 4. As part of the promotional activities, the team held a press conference in Bengaluru on Monday (May 25). The event was attended by Ram Charan, Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, and producer Venkata Satish Kilaru. The statements made by the team, particularly Shiva Rajkumar's remarks about the film, have since gone viral.
Shiva Rajkumar on his role in 'Peddi'
Shiva Rajkumar spoke emotionally about his character in 'Peddi.' According to reports from NTV Telugu, he said, “I always choose characters that resonate with my heart. Gournayudu is one such role. It carries a strong purpose and a meaningful journey. Director Buchi Babu has crafted it beautifully.” He added that his character functions like a coach within the story and plays a crucial emotional role. He further stated, “Peddi’s journey is special, and many characters cross his path, enriching the narrative.” According to him, the emotional connection between his character and Ram Charan will be a major highlight of the film.
Shiva Rajkumar's high praise for Ram Charan
Shiva Rajkumar did not hold back in commending Ram Charan's performance. He asserted, “I strongly believe Ram Charan will receive a National Award for this film. He worked with immense dedication for nearly two and a half years.” He added, “The way he transformed his body and embodied the character is incredible. He brought complete honesty to the role.” He also praised director Buchi Babu Sana, noting that the film has been made exactly as the story demanded. Shiva Rajkumar hinted that the film's climax will be a big surprise best experienced exclusively in theaters.
Ram Charan on working with Shiva Rajkumar
Shiva Rajkumar also shared that he carefully develops his characters after discussions with directors and prefers meaningful roles. He revealed that he is currently working on a biopic titled 'Gummadi Narsaiah' and is also part of 'Jailer 2' alongside Rajinikanth. Meanwhile, Ram Charan spoke emotionally at the event, stating that working with Shiva Rajkumar was a dream come true for him. He called 'Peddi' one of the most sincere films of his career and assured that the team worked with complete dedication to deliver a memorable cinematic experience.
