Meeting Paul McCartney on SNL

Sherman, who joined SNL as a cast member in 2021, had previously mentioned in a sketch that her iconic mullet was inspired by McCartney's hairstyle from his Wings era. When McCartney appeared on a later episode, he immediately noticed. According to Sherman, he approached her after the show, pulled on her mullet, and asked, "Is it real or is it a wig?" She confirmed it was her real hair, and the exchange left her thrilled.

She later joked on social media that she would never wash her mullet again. Discussing the incident on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, host Jimmy Kimmel remarked, "I think it's very rare that somebody gets their mullet pulled by a Beatle." Sherman quipped back, "Honey, he can do whatever he wants to me."
