Prayagraj: Puran Chandra Joshi (79), husband of former MP and ex-cabinet minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi, passed away at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) in Lucknow on Monday. A mechanical engineer by profession, his body has been taken to Prayagraj, and the cremation will be held at Daraganj ghat around 3 pm on Tuesday.
Wave of Grief Among BJP Workers
As soon as the news of PC Joshi's demise reached the city, a wave of grief swept through BJP workers and office-bearers. Expressing condolences, BJP district media in-charge Dilip Kumar Chaturvedi said, "The demise of PC Joshi is an irreparable loss. The BJP family stands in solidarity with the bereaved family."
Condolences from Political Leaders
Samajwadi Party national president and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav also expressed grief over the demise. "Praying for peace to the departed soul," Yadav said, extending condolences to the bereaved family.
Members of the City Congress Committee expressed deep sorrow. City president Fuzail Hashmi and senior leaders described his demise as an irreparable loss. Senior Congress leader Kishore Varshney noted that Joshi had retired from a senior officer position at TSL and was known as a kind-hearted person. A two-minute silence was observed for the peace of the departed soul.
Leaders across party lines have paid tribute to PC Joshi, remembering his gentle nature and contributions. The funeral is expected to draw many mourners from the political and social circles of Prayagraj.
