Radhika Apte Missed Shah Rukh Khan's Call, Thought It Was a Prank
Radhika Apte on missing SRK's call, late-night chat

Bollywood actress Radhika Apte recently shared a delightful anecdote about missing a phone call from none other than the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. The incident, which she initially dismissed as a potential prank, culminated in a heartwarming conversation and a memorable late-night meeting with the superstar.

The Missed Call and the Prank Suspicion

In a candid interview with Mashable India, Radhika Apte recounted the moment. She was in the middle of a meal when she noticed a missed call from an unknown number. Shortly after, a text message arrived from the same number. The message read, "Radhika, this is Shah Rukh Khan. Please call me back."

The actress admitted her first reaction was disbelief. "For a moment she felt like someone was doing a prank, since the number was different," she revealed. To verify the caller's identity, Apte immediately checked with her agent, asking for Shah Rukh Khan's official contact number. Upon confirmation, she realized it was indeed SRK who had tried to reach her.

Shah Rukh Khan's Sweet Reason for Calling

Once the authenticity was confirmed, Radhika Apte promptly returned the call. She shared what the superstar said to her. "I just want to tell you that I just saw 'Andhadhun'," Shah Rukh Khan told her. He added, "I really loved your performance. And I just called to say that."

Apte expressed how much that simple gesture meant to her, stating that the call from one of Indian cinema's biggest icons "made her day." The praise for her role in the critically acclaimed thriller 'Andhadhun' was a significant compliment coming from Khan himself.

The 5 AM Party Encounter

The story did not end with the phone call. Radhika Apte further disclosed that she later met Shah Rukh Khan in person at a party. The meeting happened in the early hours, around 5 am. The actress, who prefers not to approach celebrities, was pleasantly surprised when SRK sought her out.

"He found me because I don't like to go and say, 'Please, I like you,'" Apte explained. She described how the actor came over, put his arm around her, and engaged in a genuine conversation. "He chatted with me for half an hour," she said, concluding that "He was so sweet, and it was really nice."

This double interaction—first the unexpected praise call and then the lengthy, personal chat—paints a picture of Shah Rukh Khan's renowned humility and grace off-screen.
