Palaash Muchhal Discharged: Stress, Not Heart Attack, Caused Hospitalisation
Palaash Muchhal Discharged After Stress-Related Health Scare

Music composer Palaash Muchhal, who was hospitalised earlier this week after his wedding to cricketer Smriti Mandhana was abruptly postponed, has been discharged from the hospital. Medical authorities have confirmed that his health episode was triggered by severe emotional stress and not a major cardiac complication.

Medical Report: Stress-Induced Symptoms, Not Cardiac Emergency

According to senior doctors treating him, Palaash first experienced chest discomfort and sought treatment at a hospital in Sangli. When his symptoms persisted, he was transferred to SRV Hospital in Mumbai, where he was admitted with severe chest pain, breathlessness, and general uneasiness.

Dr. Dipendra Tripathi, a senior doctor monitoring his case, told Mid-Day that Palaash's condition was linked to stress-related distress rather than a serious cardiac event. Upon admission, he underwent standard cardiac evaluations, including an ECG and 2D echocardiography.

While some levels were slightly elevated, the tests showed no signs of a major cardiac or medical emergency. He was immediately started on oxygen therapy and, after initial stabilisation, was moved to a general room for observation. Doctors stated that the intense emotional pressure from recent events was the likely trigger.

Discharge and Recovery: Three Weeks of Rest Advised

Hospital authorities confirmed that Palaash was formally discharged on Wednesday. His vitals and stress levels showed steady improvement with supportive care and rest. As a precaution, he has been advised to take complete rest for at least three weeks to prevent a recurrence of symptoms.

This health update follows the discharge of Smriti Mandhana's father, Shrinivas Mandhana, from Sarvhit Hospital on Monday morning. The elder Mandhana had developed heart attack-like symptoms just hours before the wedding was set to take place on November 23 in Sangli.

The Wedding Postponement That Triggered the Stress

The wedding between Palaash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana was scheduled for November 23. However, in a sudden turn of events, Shrinivas Mandhana fell seriously ill while getting ready for the baraat.

Amita Muchhal, Palaash's mother, revealed that it was her son who insisted on postponing the wedding out of deep concern for his future father-in-law, despite the Haldi ceremony already being completed. The emotional toll of this decision left Palaash in tears and ultimately led to his hospitalisation, where he was kept under observation for four hours. His sister, singer Palak Muchhal, visited him during this time.

Following the incident, Smriti Mandhana and her bridesmaids removed all wedding-related photos from social media. Both families are now prioritising the health and recovery of their loved ones before deciding on a new date for the wedding ceremony.
