The ongoing war of words between internet personality Orry and YouTuber Dhruv Rathee shows no signs of ending. Months after publicly criticizing Rathee, Orry has once again taken aim at the political commentator during a podcast appearance, accusing him of pushing selective narratives and only discussing topics that align with his personal views.
Speaking on the KK Create podcast, Orry, whose real name is Orhan Awatramani, did not hold back when asked about Dhruv Rathee. According to him, his dislike for the YouTuber began with something simpler than politics. Orry claimed he once clicked on one of Rathee's videos after spotting himself in the thumbnail, only to discover he barely featured in the content.
"I don't like him because he used me as a thumbnail on his video. I got tricked into watching it, and I was there for two seconds. You used me as clickbait and got me to sit through a 20-minute video that wasn't even about me," Orry said.
But the complaint did not stop there. Orry went on to accuse Rathee of being selective about the issues he chooses to discuss online. While admitting that he does not closely follow all of Rathee's content, he said he feels the YouTuber often addresses topics only when they fit a particular narrative. "I feel he covers topics very conveniently when it fits his narrative. Sometimes he'll say something that doesn't make sense, and then when there are other things happening that should be discussed, he just won't talk about them," Orry added.
He also took a personal dig at Rathee, jokingly revealing a nickname he uses for him. According to Orry, he refers to the YouTuber as "Dhruv t**ti," adding that he first came across the nickname online and it simply stuck with him.
This is not the first time Orry has publicly criticized Rathee. Last year, he jumped to the defense of his friend Janhvi Kapoor after Rathee released a video discussing cosmetic procedures in Bollywood. The video featured references to Janhvi, prompting Orry to hit back in the comments section of an Instagram post discussing the issue. At the time, Orry claimed Janhvi probably did not even know who Rathee was. He also labeled the YouTuber "anti-national" and accused him of creating controversial content for attention.
In another comment that went viral, Orry wrote that he knew Rathee only as "that anti-nationalist who complains about not getting papped at a train station despite having followers." Rathee has not publicly responded to Orry's latest remarks so far.
The renewed attack has once again sparked debate online, with social media users split between those backing Orry's criticism and those defending Rathee's work. One thing is certain: whenever these two names end up in the same conversation, the internet rarely stays quiet for long.
