A 29-year-old man in Mumbai has been arrested for allegedly stalking and sexually harassing a 24-year-old female colleague. The accused, a resident of Vikhroli, worked with the victim at a private company in the same area. According to the police, the harassment began in November 2024 and continued until January 2025.
Nature of Harassment
The victim reported that the accused repeatedly sent her obscene videos and made vulgar comments via social media. He also followed her and made inappropriate gestures while she was on her way to work. The incidents escalated over time, causing the victim significant distress.
Police Action
Based on the victim's complaint, the Vikhroli police registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including those related to stalking, sexual harassment, and criminal intimidation. The accused was taken into custody on Wednesday and will be produced before a magistrate court. An investigation is underway to gather further evidence.
