Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly's explosive allegations that President Donald Trump has been unfaithful to all his wives have gone viral, prompting the internet to question her sudden shift from once calling Trump the 'protector' of women.
Kelly's Statements on the Hodgetwins Podcast
During an appearance on the Hodgetwins podcast, Kelly stated, 'Trump has cheated on every wife he’s had. He met Marla Maples while he was married to the mother of his children, Ivana.' Regarding Ivana Trump's rape allegation, which she later withdrew, Kelly remarked that she did not know what happened but acknowledged the relationship was not good. She added, 'He winds up with Melania and if you think Trump’s been faithful to Melania, you’ve got bigger issues than I can solve.'
Context of the Comments
Kelly's remarks came in response to President Trump's criticism of his former National Counterterrorism Center Director, Joe Kent. Kent resigned over the Iran war, and Trump suggested that Kent remarried 'quite quickly' after his first wife, Shannon, died in 2019. Kelly has distanced herself from Trump and the MAGA movement due to her opposition to the Iran war, but her reversal on an issue she once supported has drawn criticism.
Reactions from Conservative Commentators
Laura Loomer called Kelly an 'opportunistic snake' and said it was a mistake for Trump's campaign to allow her on stage. Commentator Goldberg noted, 'I love how MAGA apologists who ignored or even celebrated Trump's character flaws now suddenly discover them and pretend to be brave truth tellers.' Another commentator, Bonch, wrote, 'Seeing Megyn, who spent the last several years proclaiming herself some kind of MAGA queen, now pushing 2016 talking points is hilarious. If this was an issue for you, why wasn't it a year ago?'
Kelly's comments have reignited debate about her credibility and the consistency of conservative commentators who once supported Trump.
