Karan Wahi Stops Overthinking, Trusts Instinct for Career Choices
Karan Wahi Stops Overthinking, Trusts Instinct for Career

After spending nearly two decades in the entertainment industry, Karan Wahi says he has stopped overthinking his career choices and now relies purely on instinct. "I'm a very instinctive person when it comes to work. If I like something, I'll do it. I just need to feel right about it. After that, I don't think about whether it'll be a hit or flop because that's not in my hands," he says.

Reflecting on Showbiz Unpredictability

Reflecting on the unpredictability of showbiz, Karan admits that actors often misjudge which projects will connect with audiences. "Sometimes the projects you think will become huge don't really take off. And even when something becomes successful, we start comparing it to something even bigger. That cycle never really ends," says Karan.

Chasing Credibility Over Validation

At this stage of his career, Karan says he is chasing credibility as a performer more than validation through platforms or numbers. "As an actor, what I seek now is credibility of craft. Unfortunately, people tend to bracket actors based on whether they work in television, OTT or films. But I'm currently shooting for something that feels path-breaking for me. I genuinely think it can change the game," he says.

Consistent Approach Across Platforms

Having worked across television, hosting, reality shows and OTT platforms, Karan says his approach to acting has remained unchanged. "I started with television, then became an anchor, did reality shows and eventually moved to OTT. But personally, I haven't changed the way I work. I don't act differently for TV, films or OTT. I'm still the same actor. The only difference is how audiences perceive each platform," he shares.

Hope for Longevity

Looking ahead, Karan says his biggest hope is longevity. "I just hope I can continue being relevant for the next two decades. To evolve with time while still holding on to who I am and what I want to be," he signs off.
