An Indian Army officer has achieved a remarkable feat by securing two top academic awards at the United States Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC), outperforming military officers from 92 countries. Major Prabhat Mishra received the Birrer-Brookes Award for Outstanding Master of Military Arts and Science Thesis and the General Douglas MacArthur Military Leadership Writing Award during the graduation ceremony of the Command and General Staff Officer Course (CGSOC) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
International Recognition at Prestigious Institution
This year, the 10-month leadership programme graduated 951 officers, including 120 international military officers representing 92 nations. Major Mishra was among a select group of officers recognised for exceptional academic performance. The awards highlight excellence in military studies, research, and leadership writing.
Major Mishra's achievement marks another milestone in a career distinguished by professional recognition and dedicated service. Officers selected for the CGSOC are among the most promising field-grade leaders in their respective armed forces.
Other Award Recipients
The ceremony also honoured international officers from other countries. Major Aleksander Granberg of Norway received the General Dwight D. Eisenhower Award and the Arter-Doniphan Award, while Lieutenant Colonel Taleh SFHH Alrashid of Kuwait was presented with the Major General Hans Schlup Award.
