The actor recited the Shahada—the Islamic declaration of faith—alongside cast and crew members of his latest film '7 Dogs', currently being shot in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority Chairman Turki Alalshikh shared a video on social media showing Esposito and four to five others offering prayers in a mosque. The caption stated that the actor accepted Islam after working on '7 Dogs' in the kingdom. The caption read: “Seven Dogs and Breaking Bad star Giancarlo Esposito recited the Shahada and joined his cast and crew in prayer at a mosque yesterday after expressing his satisfaction with the interaction with Muslims during filming in Saudi Arabia. The video shows him yesterday with employees of the Sila Company. Praise be to God.” The video has since gone viral.
