Elon Musk Seeks Full Custody of Son After Mother's Transgender Comments
Elon Musk Files for Full Custody Over Transgender Remarks

Elon Musk declared on Monday, January 12, that he intends to file for full custody of his one-year-old son. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO cited comments made by the child's mother, conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair, regarding the transgender community.

Musk's X Post Sparks Custody Announcement

Musk made this significant announcement through a post on his social media platform X. He responded directly to a follower during an online discussion about St. Clair's recent statements. The billionaire wrote clearly, "I will be filing for full custody today, given her statements implying she might transition a one-year-old boy."

This response came after another user urged Musk to seek full care of the child. However, it remains uncertain whether St. Clair ever suggested she would allow her son to undergo a gender transition. No public statement from her supports this claim.

St. Clair's Public Apology Precedes Musk's Move

Musk's custody announcement followed a public apology from Ashley St. Clair over the weekend. She expressed deep regret about her earlier positions on transgender issues. St. Clair wrote, "I feel immense guilt for my role," responding to an X user who accused her of "blatant transphobia" in the past.

She added, "And even more guilt that things I have said in the past may have caused my son's sister more pain. I don't really know how to make amends for many of these things but I have been trying incredibly hard privately to learn + advocate for those within the trans community that I've hurt."

From Conservative Influencer to Controversial Figure

Ashley St. Clair gained attention on X for her conservative commentary. She revealed early last year that she gave birth to Musk's 13th child. This disclosure attracted widespread media coverage and public interest.

Elon Musk's Extensive Family Background

The billionaire entrepreneur has children with multiple partners. His family includes:

  • Five children with his first wife, author Justine Wilson: twins Vivian and Griffin, and triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian.
  • Their first child, Nevada, died tragically in 2002 at just 10 weeks old.
  • Three children with musician Grimes: X, Exa Dark Siderael, and Techno Mechanicus.
  • Four children with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis: twins Strider and Azure, daughter Arcadia, and son Seldon Lycurgus.

This custody development adds another chapter to Musk's complex personal life, which continues to generate headlines alongside his business ventures.
