Dilip Joshi Reminisces Working with Rakesh Bedi on 1998 Sitcom

The massive success of the spy thriller 'Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge' has stirred a wave of nostalgia for one of television's most cherished actors. Dilip Joshi, widely recognized for his iconic role as Jethalal in 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', recently took a trip down memory lane to honor his long-time friend and co-star, Rakesh Bedi. While Rakesh Bedi is currently earning widespread acclaim for his portrayal of Jameel Jamaali in the Aditya Dhar-directed franchise, Joshi fondly reminisced about their collaboration on the 1998 sitcom 'Hum Sab Ek Hain'.

Dilip Joshi Praises Rakesh Bedi's Enduring Career

Dilip Joshi acknowledged Rakesh Bedi's significant and long-standing contribution to the entertainment industry. He described Bedi as a seasoned performer who has consistently demonstrated remarkable talent over the years. "He is such a senior actor and has been a part of the industry for many years. He is a very talented actor. He has always done good work and will continue to do so," Joshi stated.

Nostalgic Memories from 'Hum Sab Ek Hain'

During his conversation with IANS, Dilip Joshi shared nostalgic memories from 'Hum Sab Ek Hain', a 1998 situational comedy centered around a joint family and built on themes of national integration. He recalled how the show brought together actors who were still establishing their careers in the industry. "During 'Hum Sab Ek Hain', Rakesh ji was already a very big star, yet he was extremely humble. When we worked together in 1998, he never made anyone feel that he was such a legendary artist or such a big star. We were all quite new at the time, and we worked together like a team," Joshi added.

Rakesh Bedi's Success in 'Dhurandhar 2'

Notably, 'Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge' continues to maintain a steady run at the box office. The Aditya Dhar-directed spy thriller has sustained audience interest even after completing 44 days in theatres. However, the film is now facing increasing competition from new releases across regional, national, and international markets. Ritesh Deshmukh's 'Raja Shivaji' has moved ahead in box office performance due to its strong response in both Marathi and Hindi versions. Despite this shift, 'Dhurandhar 2' reportedly collected over Rs 1785 crore gross worldwide on Friday, as reported by Sacnilk.

Dilip Joshi, while speaking about his friend Rakesh Bedi's success as Jameel Jamaali, said, "Today, the entire world appreciates his work, and I am too small to speak about Rakeshji."

In conclusion, the enduring friendship between Dilip Joshi and Rakesh Bedi, forged during the 'Hum Sab Ek Hain' days, remains a testament to their mutual respect and talent. Meanwhile, 'Dhurandhar 2' continues to captivate audiences, showcasing Bedi's versatility and enduring appeal.
