Brian Harpole Files Defamation Lawsuit Against Candace Owens Over Charlie Kirk Claims
Brian Harpole Sues Candace Owens for Defamation Over Kirk Claims

A serious legal fight has begun, pulling prominent figures into the spotlight. Brian Harpole, who once handled security for Charlie Kirk, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Candace Owens. The case revolves around claims Owens made following Kirk's death. According to the complaint, she accused Harpole of being linked to the incident through her podcast and social media posts.

Lawsuit Details

The lawsuit was shared publicly by Harpole's attorney, Matt Sarelson, on X. It clearly states that Harpole and his company had no role in the killing, no prior knowledge, and were not negligent. Despite this, Owens continued to speak about a possible conspiracy, which now forms the core of the legal dispute.

Origins of the Claims

Shortly after Charlie Kirk's death, Owens began sharing theories online. She suggested that people close to Kirk may have betrayed him and spoke about a potential government cover-up. Over time, her claims became more direct, pointing at Harpole. In a December 9, 2025 podcast episode, Owens told her audience, "Well, what I'm about to tell you guys today is going to positively blow your mind." She claimed to have received a "credible" tip from Mitch Snow, asserting that Harpole was seen at a meeting with military officials one day before the killing.

However, the lawsuit strongly rejects this, stating that Harpole was in Dallas, Texas at that time, as supported by his travel records. It also notes that he has never been to Fort Huachuca. Despite this evidence, Owens repeated the claim, calling the tip "very credible" without justification.

Escalation and Direct Contact

The situation intensified when Owens reached out to Harpole directly, requesting a private conversation. When he did not respond, she discussed his silence on her podcast, suggesting it appeared suspicious. The lawsuit asserts that this further damaged his reputation. A key detail is that Owens later posted on X that she had already seen Harpole's flight records, indicating she may have known he was not at the meeting. Yet she continued to promote the claim. Harpole's legal team argues this demonstrates "reckless disregard for the truth", a critical element in defamation law.

Legal Counts and Damages

The case includes six legal counts and seeks millions of dollars in damages. A jury trial has been requested. On her show, Owens has attempted to distance herself from some claims, suggesting her source might have been mistaken. Now, the court will determine the truth behind these allegations.
