Ayushmann Khurrana Admits Fame Led to Temporary Breakup with Wife Tahira Kashyap
Ayushmann Khurrana on Fame, Breakup with Wife Tahira Kashyap

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana recently opened up about love, fame, and emotional maturity during the promotion of his upcoming film 'Pati Patni Aur Woh Do'. In a candid conversation, he admitted that early success briefly altered his personality and even caused a temporary breakup with his longtime partner, Tahira Kashyap, after winning MTV Roadies.

Reflections on Sudden Fame

While promoting the film with co-stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Rakul Preet Singh, and Sara Ali Khan, Ayushmann reflected on how sudden fame impacted him at the age of 20. Speaking on Raunaq Rajani's YouTube channel, he shared, 'I have gone through a similar situation. I was 20 at that time. I said the same things to my girlfriend, who is now my wife. She started laughing and asked me, 'What has happened to you?' I had just won Roadies, but in my head, I was the most popular guy in Chandigarh.'

The Breakup

The actor further admitted that he decided to step away from the relationship for a short period because he wanted to focus entirely on himself and his career ambitions. 'I broke up with her for a while to focus on myself. I was like, 'I don't have time for relationships. I have to invest time in myself,'' he recalled.

Emotional Maturity

Ayushmann also spoke humorously about how men emotionally mature over time. Looking back at his younger self, he joked, 'Men have this deep tendency of starting off as a huge red flag and then suddenly becoming a green flag by the time they are in their mid-30s. I think it's a journey we all take. I think I am a green flag now.'

Reconciliation and Marriage

The separation was temporary. Around six months later, Ayushmann realized his mistake and reconciled with Tahira. The couple eventually married when he was 24, and by the time he made his Bollywood debut with 'Vicky Donor', he had already become a father.

Surprising Confession

During the same interaction, the actor made a surprising confession linked to 'Vicky Donor', a film centered around sperm donation. Cracking a joke about his preparation for the role, Ayushmann said, 'Even before starting Vicky Donor, I was already a father. I took method acting a bit too seriously.' He then revealed that he had actually donated sperm during one of the tasks on Roadies. 'I have donated sperm for real. It was part of a Roadies task. They used to check our sperm count. I was just 20 then. Nothing was shown on screen; only the results were revealed. And I won the task,' he shared.

His revelation left his co-stars visibly stunned. Sara Ali Khan appeared shocked, while Rakul Preet Singh reacted by asking, 'You donated sperm, and then you did Vicky Donor?'

Upcoming Projects

On the professional front, Ayushmann will next be seen in director Sooraj Barjatya's 'Yeh Prem Mol Liya' opposite Sharvari. He is also set to star in Dharma Productions' upcoming project 'Udta Teer' alongside Sara Ali Khan.
