Arti Singh Shares Her Heartfelt Journey and Motherhood Plans

Television actress Arti Singh has captivated audiences with her performances in popular shows like Thoda Hai Thode Ki Zarurat Hai, Parichay, and Waaris. Recently, she opened up about her deeply personal life journey, revealing plans for motherhood and reflecting on her own adoption story.

A Life Marked by Early Loss and Adoption

Arti Singh's life began with profound loss. Her biological mother passed away at just 37 years old, merely a month after Arti's birth on April 5. "My mother died on May 11, and I was born on April 5—so it was within about a month of my birth," she shared in an emotional interview.

By what she describes as divine grace, her mother's best friend, whom Arti calls Geeta Maa, stepped in to adopt her. "Before my biological mother passed away, my Geeta Maa had handed me over to her," Arti explained, highlighting the extraordinary bond between the two women.

Growing Up Without Traditional Parental Figures

The actress grew up without a consistent father figure in her life. While her brother Krushna remained with their biological father, Arti was raised in Lucknow by her adoptive family. This separation meant she didn't grow up alongside Krushna for many years, though she emphasizes she was "loved and cared for" in her adoptive home.

"I didn't really have a father figure around," Arti confessed, noting how this absence shaped her emotional landscape and search for security in relationships.

The Special Bond with Her Adoptive Mother

Arti spoke glowingly about the relationship between her biological mother and Geeta Maa, describing it as exceptionally close. "They were so close that they would even go to parties wearing the same saree," she recalled, marveling at this rare bond between in-laws.

This warmth was passed down to Arti, who felt her adoptive mother "truly lived" the meaning of friendship and family commitment.

Family Connections and Marriage

Arti maintains strong connections with her extended family, particularly expressing admiration for her uncle Govinda, whom she calls Chichi Mama. "I love Chichi Mama a lot, and I admire how he took care of the entire family," she said, noting how his home became a gathering place for the family after her mother's passing.

Her marriage at age 39 represented a significant milestone. Arti recalled how after her wedding rituals were completed, Geeta Maa looked up and declared, "My responsibility is fulfilled." This moment symbolized the completion of her adoptive mother's duty in seeing her daughter settled.

Honesty in Relationships and Motherhood Plans

When Arti first met her husband Deepak, she was remarkably transparent about her life circumstances. "I told him everything about myself in that very first conversation, even about my panic attacks," she revealed.

This honesty extended to discussions about motherhood. Arti was upfront about her age and uncertainty regarding natural conception. Her husband's response moved her deeply: "He simply looked at me and said there are so many children in the world who need a home—we can always adopt."

Embracing Adoption as a Beautiful Option

Arti has faced constant questions about marriage and children throughout her life. "People would keep asking, 'When are you getting married?' And whenever I visited Lucknow, the next question would be, 'When will you have a child?'" she shared.

Despite these pressures, Arti maintains a balanced perspective on motherhood. While she's aware of options like egg freezing, her fear of injections prevented her from pursuing this path. Instead, she's firmly committed to the idea of adoption if natural conception doesn't occur.

"I've always felt that if it happens naturally, that's great. But if it doesn't, I'm completely open to adoption," Arti stated emphatically. "I'm an adopted child myself, and I've received a lot of love, so I would love to give the same to someone else."

A Message of Love and Acceptance

Arti's journey has taught her that family isn't defined solely by biological connections. "Giving a child a home is just as beautiful," she reflected. "I don't feel the need to prove anything to anyone, what matters is the happiness within my home."

Her story stands as a testament to resilience, the power of chosen family, and the beautiful possibilities that adoption offers both children and parents seeking to build loving homes.
