Argentine YouTuber and content creator Gaspar Prim Díaz, widely known as Gaspi, has tragically passed away at the age of 23.
The Argentine streaming platform Blender confirmed the news of Gaspi's death and paid tribute in a heartfelt post: "Thanks for your art, your magic and your sensibility, every one of us will miss you."
Gaspi was among six individuals who lost their lives in a devastating helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as reported by CNN Brazil. The accident also claimed the life of American singer Oliver Tree and four others.
According to reports, Gaspi, Alex, and others were killed when their helicopter collided midair with another aircraft on Sunday morning over Rio de Janeiro's western zone. CNN Brazil indicated that the helicopter was also carrying passengers Lucas Brito Chaves and Lucas Vignale, along with pilot Alexandre Souza.
The second helicopter involved in the collision was reportedly carrying only its pilot, Charles Marsillac, described as an experienced and highly respected aviator.
Emergency officials confirmed that all six occupants of the two aircraft perished in the crash.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are currently underway. Fire officials told the news portal that evidence from the accident remains scattered across hundreds of metres, and that video recordings and flight data will be crucial in determining the cause of the crash. The reason for the collision has not yet been established.
Gaspi had risen to become one of Argentina's most prominent online personalities through his comedy sketches and social media content. With over 2.8 million subscribers on YouTube, he built a massive following across Latin America.
