The Raja Saab Box Office Day 4: A Monday Dip for Prabhas' Horror-Comedy

Prabhas' latest film, The Raja Saab, experienced a significant drop in its box office earnings on its first Monday. The horror-comedy collected only Rs 5.4 crore on day four, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This marks a sharp decline from its opening weekend performance.

Domestic and Worldwide Collections

The film's total domestic collection now stands at Rs 113.4 crore. Despite the Monday slump, The Raja Saab has crossed the Rs 180 crore mark worldwide. The makers report that the global gross currently reaches Rs 183 crore.

On Monday, the overall theatre occupancy for The Raja Saab was 24.64%. The breakdown shows morning shows at 16.20%, afternoon shows at 25.92%, evening shows at 26.15%, and night shows at 30.27%.

Regional Performance Details

The film showed varying occupancy rates across different regions. In the Hyderabad area, it recorded 33% occupancy across 424 shows. Bengaluru saw a lower 10.67% occupancy across 364 shows.

Language-wise, The Raja Saab registered an overall occupancy of 7.36% in Hindi and 12.92% in Tamil versions.

Competition at the Box Office

The Raja Saab faces stiff competition from other releases. Chiranjeevi's film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is challenging it for screens and audiences in the Telugu market.

More competition looms ahead. Ravi Teja's Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi and Naveen Polishetty's Anaganaga Oka Raju are set to release on January 13 and January 14 respectively.

Critical Reception and Film Details

Critics have given The Raja Saab mixed reviews. SCREEN's review noted that the film shows potential but suffers from unrealized sophistication. The review pointed out issues with clarity and coherence in handling complex subject matter.

Directed by Maruthi and produced by People Media Factory, The Raja Saab features an ensemble cast. Alongside Prabhas, the film stars Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Boman Irani, and Riddhi Kumar in important roles.

The film's box office journey continues amid these challenges. Its performance in the coming days will determine its final commercial success.
