Adivi Sesh Praises Dhurandhar, Sets Stage for 2026 Box Office Clash with Dacoit
Sesh Lauds Dhurandhar Ahead of Dacoit Clash

In a surprising and gracious move, actor Adivi Sesh publicly heaped praise on the blockbuster film Dhurandhar during the trailer launch event for his upcoming Hindi film, Dacoit. This appreciation has added an intriguing layer to the impending cinematic showdown, as Dhurandhar Part Two is officially scheduled to clash with Dacoit at the box office on March 19, 2026.

A Personal Connection and New Perspective

Addressing the media, Sesh drew a personal parallel between Dhurandhar and his own critically acclaimed film, Major, where he portrayed the martyred hero Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. He revealed that his deep research for Major focused on the Indian side of the 2008 Mumbai attacks, but watching Aditya Dhar's film offered him a completely new viewpoint.

"I had researched so much on the 26/11 attacks and the Black Tornado operation. But to know the Pakistani side of things was a new experience for me," Sesh stated. He further expressed his admiration, saying, "I thought Dhurandhar is an extraordinary film. It thoroughly deserves to be India’s biggest film of the moment. I’m so proud that so many people are watching the film. It’s a proper word-of-mouth hit."

Applauding Organic Success and Value System

Echoing sentiments shared by other industry peers, Sesh commended the makers of Dhurandhar for achieving monumental success without relying on aggressive promotional tactics. He highlighted the film's genuine audience pull and the integrity of its director.

"People are turning up in genuine numbers. There’s no booking involved," he noted, applauding the organic success. "I’m so proud of Aditya’s film and everything that he has achieved. He has an extraordinary value system." Sesh's admiration is so strong that he plans to watch the film a second time with his family.

The Stage is Set for a Major 2026 Clash

This mutual respect sets the stage for one of the most anticipated box office clashes in recent memory. Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, has already become a colossal hit, crossing the Rs 450 crore mark in domestic collections. Its ensemble cast includes Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Sara Arjun.

On the other side, Dacoit features Adivi Sesh alongside Mrunal Thakur and is notably headlined by filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in a key acting role. The two films will now go head-to-head on the same release date, promising a fascinating battle that blends professional rivalry with public camaraderie.

While the clash is two years away, Sesh's unexpected endorsement has already generated significant buzz and media attention, framing the upcoming competition as one rooted in respect for craft and storytelling, rather than mere commercial rivalry.
