'The Raja Saab' Faces Box Office Disappointment
Prabhas' much-anticipated film 'The Raja Saab' is failing to meet expectations at the box office. The movie's performance has been disappointing from the very beginning. Early estimates reveal a concerning pattern of declining collections that shows no signs of improvement.
Steady Decline in Daily Collections
The film's earnings have been dropping consistently since its release. On Day 3, the movie managed to collect Rs 19.1 crore across all languages. Telugu contributed the most with Rs 14.2 crore, followed by Hindi at Rs 4.65 crore. Tamil brought in Rs 15 lakhs, while Kannada and Malayalam added Rs 7 lakhs and Rs 3 lakhs respectively.
However, the situation worsened dramatically on Day 4. Collections fell sharply to just Rs 6.6 crore, marking a significant drop from the previous day. The downward trend continued on Day 5, with earnings slipping further to Rs 4.85 crore across India.
The total India net collection now stands at approximately Rs 119.45 crore. This figure includes the Rs 114.60 crore earned during the first four days. The Sunday-to-Monday drop proved particularly severe, and the decline has persisted through Tuesday.
Low Occupancy Across All Languages
Occupancy numbers paint an equally troubling picture for the film. On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, theaters remained largely empty across all language versions.
Telugu version occupancy reached only 21.12% overall. Morning shows recorded the lowest numbers at 14.55%. Afternoon shows improved slightly to 22.32%, while evening shows maintained similar levels at 22.39%. Night shows performed best at 25.20%.
Hindi version occupancy was even weaker at 12.55% overall. Morning shows struggled at 7.13%, with afternoon shows at 11.25%. Evening shows saw 12.08% occupancy, and night shows reached 19.72%.
Tamil version also showed poor performance with 12.12% overall occupancy. Morning shows recorded 13.78%, while afternoon shows reached 14.33%. Evening shows dropped to 9.53%, and night shows managed only 10.83%.
Mixed Reviews Add to Film's Troubles
Online reviews have been largely negative, with many viewers expressing disappointment. One viewer commented harshly about the film's quality, stating it lacked basic storytelling and filmmaking elements. The review specifically criticized Prabhas' performance, describing it as artificial and unconvincing.
Another viewer called the film a complete blunder, pointing out stretched scenes and forced romantic angles. The comment noted that character performances felt mediocre and unconvincing throughout the movie.
Cast and Production Details
The film features Prabhas in the lead role under Maruthi's direction. The supporting cast includes established names like Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Boman Irani, and Riddhi Kumar. Despite this impressive lineup and high pre-release expectations, the film has failed to connect with audiences.
The combination of declining collections, low theater occupancy, and negative audience feedback suggests 'The Raja Saab' faces significant challenges in recovering its momentum. Industry observers are watching closely to see if the film can stabilize in the coming days.
