Parasakthi Box Office Day 14: Collections Dwindle to ₹25 Lakh, Third Week Begins Weakly
Parasakthi Day 14 Box Office: Collections Drop to ₹25 Lakh

The Tamil political drama Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sreeleela, is facing a significant downturn at the box office as it steps into its third week. The film, which initially clashed with Vijay's Jana Nayagan, has seen its earnings plummet, raising concerns about its commercial performance.

Parasakthi Box Office Collection Day 14: A Pale Start to Week 3

According to data from industry tracker Sacnilk, Parasakthi managed to earn only ₹25 lakh on Friday, January 24. This marks a weak entry into the third week, especially notable given the absence of major Tamil film competition during this period. The film's total collection now stands at ₹51.33 crore over 14 days, which is just a little over 26% of its massive production cost of approximately ₹200 crore.

Week 2 Performance: A Drastic Decline

The movie opened strongly in its first week, amassing ₹36.25 crore. However, the second week witnessed a steep and alarming drop, with collections falling to ₹14.83 crore—nearly 60% less than the opening week. The daily breakdown of Week 2 highlights the consistent decline:

  • Day 7 (Friday): ₹5 crore
  • Day 8 (Saturday): ₹4.85 crore
  • Day 9 (Sunday): ₹2.65 crore
  • Day 10 (Monday): ₹75 lakh
  • Day 11 (Tuesday): ₹33 lakh
  • Day 12 (Wednesday): ₹55 lakh
  • Day 13 (Thursday): ₹43 lakh

This downward trend underscores the challenges the film faces in sustaining audience interest beyond its initial release.

Parasakthi Budget and Pre-Release Deals

With a budget of around ₹200 crore, Parasakthi is one of the most expensive projects in Sivakarthikeyan's career. Despite its box office struggles, the film secured lucrative pre-release deals that provided a financial cushion:

  • OTT Rights: Sold to Zee5 for ₹52 crore, marking one of Sivakarthikeyan's biggest OTT deals to date. This alone recovered about 26% of the total budget.
  • Satellite Rights: Acquired by Kalaignar TV for ₹30 crore.
  • Audio Rights: Purchased by Saregama Music for ₹13 crore.

Combined, these deals brought in nearly ₹95 crore before the film's release, helping producers recover almost half of the budget in advance. For context, Sivakarthikeyan's most successful film, Amaran, was sold to Netflix for ₹60 crore, highlighting the significance of these agreements.

As Parasakthi continues its theatrical run, its box office performance remains a point of concern, with the third week starting on a low note. The film's ability to attract viewers in the coming days will be crucial for its overall financial outcome.
