Jake Paul's Broken Jaw & Rigging Claims: MVP Prepares Legal Action
MVP Takes Legal Action Over Jake Paul Fight Rigging Claims

The boxing journey of YouTube sensation turned professional fighter Jake Paul continues to be a lightning rod for controversy. Despite stepping into the ring with heavyweight superstar Anthony Joshua, Paul's credibility faces relentless scrutiny. The fight ended with Paul suffering a broken jaw and a sixth-round knockout loss, but the physical injury has done little to mend his reputation in the eyes of many sceptical fans.

MVP Fires Back: Legal Action Over "False" Fight-Fixing Allegations

In a strong countermove, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), the firm co-founded by Jake Paul, has announced it is preparing legal action. MVP co-founder Nakisa Badarian confirmed that the organisation's legal team is actively pursuing individuals spreading what they term as false and damaging claims about the integrity of Paul's fights.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani, Badarian singled out a specific viral social media post that accused the Anthony Joshua bout of being pre-arranged. The post, which garnered roughly 200,000 likes, alleged an agreement existed for Joshua not to knock Paul out, which 'AJ' supposedly disregarded. "Our lawyers are actively going after a number of people," Badarian stated, calling the claims "pretty, pretty astonishing." He vehemently denied any fight-fixing, insisting MVP upholds strict professional standards for all its events.

Breaking Down the Loss: Size vs. Skill Debate

Addressing the fight itself, Badarian provided MVP's perspective on why Paul lost. He pushed back against the notion that Paul was outclassed technically. Instead, he pointed to the significant physical disparity between the two athletes as the deciding factor.

"The reality is, Jake lost because of the size difference, not because of the skill difference," Badarian argued. He described Joshua using his weight and strength to wear Paul down, particularly through clinching and pushing. This tactic, according to Badarian, drained Paul's energy, setting the stage for the finish. He countered Joshua's post-fight comment about taking Paul's soul, saying, "He didn't take out his soul. He did take out his energy."

The fight saw Paul attempt to use movement and clinches early on, but he visibly faded as the rounds progressed, allowing Joshua to seize control and secure the stoppage.

An Unconvinced Audience and a Determined Promotion

Despite holding a professional record of 12 wins and 2 losses since his 2020 debut, a segment of the boxing community remains unconvinced by Jake Paul's career path. Critics frequently argue that his opponents are selectively chosen and past their prime, a claim MVP consistently denies.

The recent allegations of a fixed fight have further fuelled this controversy. However, Most Valuable Promotions appears unwavering in its defence of Paul's legitimacy as a boxer. Their decision to pursue legal action signals a more aggressive stance against online critics. For now, as Paul recovers from his injury, the debate over his place in the sport shows no signs of abating, with his promoters ready to fight his corner both legally and in the court of public opinion.
