Kapil Sharma's 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2' Struggles, Earns Just Rs 35 Lakh on Day 9
KKPK 2 Box Office Day 9: Film Earns Rs 35 Lakh

The much-anticipated sequel to Kapil Sharma's hit comedy, 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2', is finding the going tough at the domestic box office. The film, which released amid stiff competition from major blockbusters, managed to collect only an estimated Rs 35 lakh on its second Saturday, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.

Steady Decline in Domestic Collections

While the film showed a slight uptick from its second Friday earnings of Rs 22 lakh, its daily collections have consistently failed to cross the crucial Rs 1 crore mark. The movie opened to a decent first week, raking in an estimated Rs 10.85 crore net. However, it witnessed a sharp decline post the opening weekend, with collections plummeting to Rs 90 lakh on its first Monday.

The downward trend continued throughout the week, with the second Friday marking the film's lowest single-day collection so far. With the Saturday figures added, the total net collection in India now stands at approximately Rs 11.42 crore. The gross collection from the Indian market has reached around Rs 13.53 crore.

Worldwide Figures and Kapil Sharma's Filmography

On the international front, 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2' has added an estimated Rs 85 lakh to its kitty. This brings the worldwide gross total to roughly Rs 14.38 crore. Despite the modest numbers, this performance has slowly pushed the sequel to become Kapil Sharma's second-highest-grossing film to date. The title of his top-grosser is still held by the original 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon'.

Crushed by Box Office Heavyweights

The primary challenge for the romantic comedy has been the overwhelming presence of two cinematic giants. The film has been squeezed out of screens and audience mindshare by the Bollywood spy thriller 'Dhurandhar' and the global spectacle 'Avatar: Fire and Ash'.

'Dhurandhar' has been a phenomenal success, having crossed the Rs 515 crore net mark in India and is inching towards a worldwide total of Rs 1,000 crore. 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' continues to draw massive crowds globally, leaving little room for smaller films like KKPK 2 to grow. This intense competition has significantly impacted the film's ability to attract audiences beyond its initial fan base.

The box office journey of 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2' highlights the challenges mid-budget comedies face when clashing with well-established franchises and mega-budget productions in a crowded marketplace.
