Dhurandhar: The Revenge Ignites Box Office with Historic Advance Collections
Following the release of its highly anticipated trailer, the Bollywood action spectacle 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' has commenced its advance box office journey on an extraordinarily powerful note. Headlined by the charismatic Ranveer Singh, the film is already establishing unprecedented pre-sale records across both domestic and international markets, with a full ten days remaining until its official theatrical debut.
Projecting a Massive Opening Weekend
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is reportedly tracking an enormous box office opening. This projection is fueled by robust ticket sales for its paid preview screenings scheduled for March 18, followed by strong extended weekend bookings for its grand release on March 19. Early analytical numbers strongly suggest that 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' is poised to secure one of the most significant post-pandemic openings for a Hindi film.
North American Markets Eyeing the $2 Million Mark
The film initiated its pre-sales campaign in North America several weeks prior to the opening of booking windows in India. It is already rapidly approaching the coveted $2 million milestone. The United States market, in particular, has demonstrated exceptionally strong traction.
According to data from Venky Box Office, the premiere advance sales have already soared past $618,911. This impressive figure encompasses 557 distinct locations and 1,034 scheduled shows. To date, a staggering 38,545 tickets have been sold, with the countdown still showing ten days to go.
- The total advance gross has climbed to approximately $890,000.
- First weekend advance bookings have already reached an estimated $1.70 million.
Among the leading US states, Texas currently dominates with sales of $121,469. It is closely followed by California at $98,146, New Jersey at $50,534, New York at $41,796, and Washington rounding out the top five markets with $35,012.
Indian Advance Collections Surpass Rs 18 Crore
On the home front, advance bookings for 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' have secured an estimated Rs 12.29 crore in gross collections across all language versions, as reported by industry tracker sacnilk. When accounting for blocked seats and other pre-sales, the total estimated collections reportedly surge to an impressive Rs 18.1 crore.
Of this substantial total, the Hindi language version has contributed the lion's share, estimated at around Rs 12.07 crore. Notably, while the first installment was released solely in Hindi, this sequel is expanding its reach with simultaneous releases in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Shattering Previous Benchmarks
The film's advance performance has already eclipsed the benchmark previously set by the hit horror-comedy 'Stree 2'. That film earned approximately Rs 8.50 crore net and over Rs 10 crore gross from its paid preview shows. Remarkably, 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' reportedly crossed this significant milestone within a mere 24-hour period, underscoring its phenomenal market demand.
Beyond Ranveer Singh, the film boasts a formidable ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, and Yami Gautam. This star-studded lineup is further amplifying the excitement and anticipation surrounding the film's release, setting the stage for what could be a landmark event in contemporary Bollywood cinema.
