Dhurandhar Box Office Smash: Rs 27 Cr Opening & Part 2 Release Date Revealed
Dhurandhar Opens at Rs 27 Cr, Post-Credits Tease Sequel

The festive season of December 2025 has found its cinematic anthem in the high-octane action of Ranveer Singh's latest blockbuster, 'Dhurandhar'. After months of intense anticipation, the film finally stormed into theatres on Friday, December 5, 2025. Drawing inspiration from true events and packed with relentless action, the movie promised a raw look at gang wars and political intrigue in Pakistan's Lyari area. The question on everyone's mind was whether it could match the towering hype. If the opening day numbers are any indicator, the answer is a resounding yes.

A Stellar Box Office Opening

'Dhurandhar' kicked off its theatrical run with an impressive net collection of Rs 27 crore in the Indian market. This formidable opening has secured its position as the second-highest opening film of 2025. Industry trackers predict the momentum will only surge over the weekend, setting the stage for a monumental total. However, beyond the commercial success, the film has sparked fervent discussions for its narrative climax and a post-credits scene that has set the internet abuzz.

Decoding the Climax and The Flashback

Directed by Aditya Dhar, 'Dhurandhar' follows the gritty journey of its protagonist, Hazma, played by Ranveer Singh. The plot, structured in chapters due to its lengthy runtime, culminates in Hazma successfully completing the first phase of his mission: eliminating the syndicate kingpin, Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna). In this mission, he is aided by SP Chaudhary Aslam (Sanjay Dutt) and local politician Jameel Jamali (Rakesh Bedi).

The final chapter, however, brings a psychological twist. Haunted by his actions, Hazma experiences a hallucination of his dead enemy, Rehman, staring back from a blood-soaked stretcher. Seeking solace, he returns home to his partner, Yaalina (Sara Arjun). The story then plunges into a crucial flashback to 2002, revealing the mission's origins. Here, audiences learn that Ranveer Singh's character's real name is Jaskirat. The mission, codenamed 'Dhurandhar', was assigned by Ajay Sanyal (R Madhavan) to infiltrate Pakistan's most dangerous terror networks and gather intelligence from within.

The Post-Credits Scene and Sequel Announcement

The real conversation starter is the film's post-credits scene. It shows Hazma waking up at night to open a secret diary given to him by another Indian operative. He wipes off Rehman's name, signifying the closure of that chapter. As he turns the page, new targets are revealed, including ISI's Major Iqbal, portrayed by Arjun Rampal.

A fast-paced montage follows, flashing back to a young Jaskirat's traumatic past and his brutal rise within Lyari's underworld. It also hints at his growing influence, with the people of Karachi beginning to hail him as a new leader, backed by Jameel. The scene concludes with a definitive title card: "Dhurandhar to be continued", followed by the word "Revenge." The card officially announces that 'Dhurandhar Part 2' is slated for release on March 19, 2026.

The combination of a thunderous box office performance and a cliffhanger ending has firmly established 'Dhurandhar' as the first major franchise-starter of the year. With the sequel's date now locked, the anticipation for Jaskirat's next chapter of vengeance has already begun.
