Dhurandhar Box Office Day 36: Earns ₹1.83 Cr, Inches Closer to ₹800 Cr Milestone
Dhurandhar Nears ₹800 Cr, Earns ₹1.83 Cr on Day 36

Ranveer Singh's action-packed spectacle, Dhurandhar, is demonstrating remarkable endurance at the ticket windows, steadily marching towards the coveted ₹800 crore net collection mark in the domestic market. Even in its sixth week, the film is pulling in audiences, showcasing the power of sustained word-of-mouth and urban appeal.

Steady Collections Despite Sixth Week Run

According to data from the industry tracker Sacnilk, Dhurandhar added ₹1.83 crore to its kitty on its fifth Friday, which was Day 36 of its theatrical run. This has propelled the film's total India net collection to an impressive ₹792.08 crore. The film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 12.34% for the day.

A closer look at the occupancy patterns reveals a steady audience flow. Morning shows began with a 7.97% occupancy, which saw a significant jump to 16.70% during afternoon shows. While data for evening and night shows was pending at the time of reporting, the afternoon surge indicates continued interest. This performance comes a day after the film earned an estimated ₹3.58 crore on Day 35 (Thursday), taking its total then to ₹789.58 crore.

Global Triumph and Historic Benchmarks

The film's success is not confined to India. On the global stage, Dhurandhar has crossed a staggering ₹1,259 crore in worldwide box office collections. This monumental achievement has made it the fourth highest-grossing Indian film globally, and in the process, it has overtaken the worldwide collections of SS Rajamouli's blockbuster RRR, which stood at approximately ₹1,230 crore.

Production house Yash Raj Films celebrated this historic feat, hailing the film as "a milestone moment in Indian cinema." They extended congratulations to director Aditya Dhar and Jio Studios for delivering the highest-grossing Indian film in a single language. Having released on 5 December, Dhurandhar continues to rank among the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time in terms of domestic net collections.

The New Challenge: Clash with The Raja Saab

The coming weekend presents a fresh challenge for the Ranveer Singh-starrer. The big-ticket release of Prabhas' The Raja Saab on Friday sets the stage for a direct box office clash. All eyes are now on whether Dhurandhar can maintain its screen presence and audience draw amid this new competition.

Renowned trade analyst Taran Adarsh highlighted that Dhurandhar concluded its fifth week on a record-breaking note, calling it the biggest Week 5 performance ever. He noted that the film continues to set new benchmarks with its sustained collections. However, he pointed out that the key question is whether The Raja Saab will affect Dhurandhar's momentum or if the latter will stand firm and offer stiff competition. "The answers," he wrote, "will emerge this weekend."

The film, featuring an ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, continues to run on limited screens in key urban markets like Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Lucknow, Jaipur, and Bengaluru. Buoyed by this phenomenal success, the makers have already announced Dhurandhar: Part 2, scheduled for release on 19 March.
