Ranveer Singh's magnum opus Dhurandhar is scripting box office history with an unstoppable run, even in its sixth week. The film has now crossed a monumental global milestone, solidifying its place among Indian cinema's all-time greats while fending off competition from new releases like Prabhas' The Raja Saab.
Day 38 Collections: Steady Earnings in Sixth Week
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Dhurandhar added Rs 6.15 crore to its kitty on its 38th day, which was its sixth Sunday since release. This steady performance comes despite a natural slowdown, with the film's daily earnings now in single digits. The Sunday shows saw an overall Hindi occupancy of 31.79%, peaking at 45% during the afternoon slots.
This latest haul has pushed the film's total domestic net collection to Rs 805.65 crore. Its total gross collection in India now stands at an impressive Rs 966.65 crore.
Global Domination: The Rs 1255 Crore Milestone
The most staggering figure is the worldwide box office tally. Dhurandhar's global earnings have now surged past Rs 1254.9 crore, effectively Rs 1255 crore. This achievement has led to two landmark records:
- It is now the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, surpassing previous record holders.
- It has entered the list of the top four highest-grossing Indian films ever, trailing only Pushpa 2 (Rs 1742.1 crore), Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 1788.06 crore), and Dangal (Rs 2122.3 crore).
In its record-breaking journey, Dhurandhar has overtaken several pan-India blockbusters, including RRR (Rs 1230 crore), KGF: Chapter 2 (Rs 1215 crore), and Jawan (Rs 1160 crore).
Facing Competition: Outshining The Raja Saab and Other Releases
Despite its extended run, Dhurandhar's dominance remains largely unchallenged in the Hindi market. The most significant new competitor is Prabhas' Telugu film The Raja Saab, which has collected a robust Rs 109.02 crore in its first three days. On Sunday, it earned Rs 20.12 crore across all languages.
However, its Hindi version collected Rs 4.54 crore on Sunday, which is less than Dhurandhar's Rs 6.15 crore on the same day, proving the Ranveer Singh-starrer's enduring appeal.
Other recent Hindi releases have failed to make a dent. Kartik Aaryan's latest film underwhelmed with a total of Rs 49.5 crore, while Agastya Nanda's Ikkis managed Rs 28.76 crore in 11 days.
Looking Ahead: The Wait for Part 2
The phenomenal success has amplified excitement for the franchise's next chapter. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Dhurandhar Part 2, scheduled for March 19. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the first part features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal in pivotal roles. Its sustained box office performance sets a high benchmark for the sequel and cements its status as a cultural phenomenon.
