Yash Reveals Toxic Delay Reason and Hollywood Release Strategy
Yash Opens Up About Toxic Delay and Hollywood Release Plan

Yash has finally opened up about his much-anticipated film 'Toxic', shedding light on the reasons behind its delayed release. The actor, who has already begun promotional activities for the project, shared insights in a recent interview about why he chose this film and its release schedule, which is reportedly inspired by Hollywood distribution models.

Yash on Collaborating with Geetu Mohandas

Discussing his decision to work with director Geetu Mohandas, Yash explained how a female filmmaker brought a unique emotional perspective to the story. In an interview with Variety, he stated, 'We [men] see life differently. We see things differently.' He elaborated, 'There is always a different point of view when a woman looks at things. We miss out on a lot of emotions or a lot of things. Maybe it doesn't matter to us. What matters to us may not be the thing which they'll be focusing on in an incident or a situation. So that perspective becomes so refreshing, and it's so layered, and it's so deep.'

Recalling how the collaboration came together, Yash mentioned that Mohandas approached him with the story. He explained, 'On the face of it, it might look like a gangster film with all the commercial things, but it's so nuanced because there is so much moral ambiguity or raw emotions or dark side of human or certain topics which as an artist or at this point in my life, I would like to explore those kind of things on celluloid.'

Yash on the Reason for Postponing 'Toxic' Release

Yash also addressed the decision to postpone the film's release twice over the past year. Discussing the release strategy, he admitted to Variety that while fans may not appreciate the delay, it was necessary. He said, 'Unfortunately, marketing happens even if you don't want to. The moment we start shooting, people start writing about it. In the West, everything starts when you finish the film.' He added, 'If somebody wants to buy the film or if somebody wants to be part of the film, they want to see the film because huge money is involved.'

Originally scheduled for release on June 4, 2026, 'Toxic' now awaits a new release date announcement. Fans are eagerly anticipating further updates on the film's progress and eventual debut.
