Vishnuvardhan Fans Create New Memorial in Bengaluru with Sudeep's Land Gift
In response to the recent demolition of the Vishnuvardhan Smaraka at Abhiman Studio in Kengeri, the late superstar's fan association has taken decisive action. They are building a new Darshana Kendra on land purchased and gifted by actor Sudeep. Sudeep fondly remembers Vishnuvardhan as his mentor, making this contribution deeply personal.
A Tribute Spanning Half an Acre
The new center will cover half an acre of land. It will feature a striking 25-foot statue of Vishnuvardhan as its centerpiece. Around the statue, a beautifully landscaped park will provide fans with a dedicated space to gather and honor their idol. The association plans to include a library and gallery filled with rare images and archives, creating a comprehensive tribute.
Organizers emphasize that this Kendra is not intended to compete with the government-backed Smaraka in Mysuru. Instead, it aims to give Bengaluru's fans their own special place to celebrate Vishnuvardhan. The association stated, "This is not just a structure, but a heartfelt homage from the fans who continue to keep Dada alive in their hearts."
Symbolic Dates Guide the Project
The project follows a carefully planned timeline with deep symbolic meaning. The blueprint will be unveiled on September 2, which is Sudeep's birthday. Construction will commence on September 18, marking Vishnuvardhan's birth anniversary. The inauguration is scheduled for the same date in 2026.
For countless fans across Karnataka, the Darshana Kendra represents more than just bricks and mortar. It stands as an enduring reminder that legends never truly depart. They live on in the spaces they influenced, the stories they inspired, and the hearts they touched.
K Manju Stresses Importance of Abhiman Studio
Kannada film producer and long-time friend of Vishnuvardhan, K Manju, holds a firm stance on the matter. He believes Abhiman Studio remains the true memorial site. Manju explained, "Abhiman Studio is the Punya Bhoomi for all Vishnuvardhan fans, as it is where the late actor was laid to rest. No new memorial can replace that."
Manju revealed that he and other fans are currently in discussions with the Balakrishna family, who own Abhiman Studio. They hope to resolve the situation amicably but are prepared to pursue legal action if necessary. Their goal is to continue fighting for their icon's legacy at the original site.
