Vidya Balan's Shoutout Wins Hearts

Expressing her admiration for the film, Balan tagged director Suresh Triveni and posted a heartfelt note celebrating the team's efforts. She wrote, "Apki toh Maa Behen aek ho gayi Netflix pe." Balan went on to praise the chemistry between the leading ladies and actor Dharna Durga: "Was so much fun to watch the crackling chemistry between Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri and Dharna Durga." Vidya Balan's Longstanding Association with Suresh Triveni

Balan and director Suresh Triveni share a successful creative partnership that began with the acclaimed comedy-drama 'Tumhari Sulu'. The duo later reunited for the thriller 'Jalsa', earning praise for their collaborative work. Their professional bond remains strong, something Triveni himself recently acknowledged while discussing why Balan was not part of 'Maa Behen'.

Why Vidya Balan Didn't Feature in 'Maa Behen'

Speaking about the film's development to India Today, Suresh Triveni revealed that 'Maa Behen' had been in the works for several years. The first draft was written shortly after the success of 'Tumhari Sulu', but the script took much longer to shape than anticipated. "It's a film that's extremely dear to me, and I wrote the first draft just after 'Tumhari Sulu'. In fact, 'Maa Behen' was supposed to be done even before (all other films), but I got stuck with the writing and couldn't take it forward. And then I found a lovely writer, Pooja Pulani, and she took over the entire writing." The filmmaker further explained that the project holds a deeply personal place in his career: "I zeroed in on the title first and then started writing about it."

More Collaborations on the Horizon?

Addressing questions about Balan's absence from the film, Triveni made it clear that the two continue to discuss future projects together. "I am always in talks with Vidya about something... She is home [to me], and we are constantly thinking of exploring what's next. I am sure that we'll get something very, very soon." The statement has already sparked excitement among fans eager to see the director-actor duo reunite after 'Tumhari Sulu' and 'Jalsa'.
