Popular actor Surinder Vicky has publicly addressed his notable absence from the highly anticipated second season of the acclaimed crime drama series 'Kohrra.' While fans might miss his presence in the sequel, the actor is currently channeling his creative energies into his upcoming family-oriented series titled 'Shabad—Reet Aur Riwaaz' on ZEE5.
Surinder Vicky Reacts to Not Being Part of Kohrra Season 2
The actor, who gained widespread recognition and critical acclaim following his powerful performance in the first season of 'Kohrra' in 2023, expressed that he remains emotionally connected to the show. However, he has gracefully accepted that it was time to move forward with other professional commitments. In a recent interview, Vicky revealed a surprising detail: he was completely unaware that the creators were planning a second season while he was deeply immersed in working on other projects.
"Initially, I think the makers didn't expect the show to blow up in a way that there would be a second season," Surinder Vicky stated. "Sudip has also mentioned that. I didn't even know when the second part was happening, or if it was happening at all. I was shooting for 'Glory,' my upcoming Netflix show, at that time. When I was told that I wasn't part of Kohrra 2, I thought, 'Okay, I anyway have work.'"
New Cast Additions and Vicky's Philosophical Outlook
The new season of Sudip Sharma's gripping series will see Barun Sobti returning from the original cast, alongside the introduction of talented actress Mona Singh to the evolving storyline. Despite not making a return to the project that significantly boosted his career, Surinder Vicky displayed no signs of disappointment regarding this casting change.
He maintained a positive and philosophical perspective, saying, "Not at all. Whatever happens, happens for the good." The actor demonstrated his continued attachment to the show by discussing its profound impact on audiences and even humorously inquired, "Are people missing me?" This lighthearted question reflects his genuine connection to the fanbase that appreciated his work in the series.
Exploring Family Dynamics in Shabad—Reet Aur Riwaaz
Surinder Vicky is now captivating audiences with his role in 'Shabad—Reet Aur Riwaaz,' a heartfelt family drama streaming on ZEE5. In this series, he portrays a strict and traditional father who strongly desires his son to follow in his footsteps as a Ragi singer, creating compelling intergenerational conflict.
This emotionally charged role provided Vicky with a unique opportunity to explore the complex dynamics of father-son relationships, which he found deeply personal and transformative. He shared a touching anecdote from his personal life that the role inspired, recalling, "After the shoot, I hugged my father, which I had never done in my life. I couldn't tell him that I love him, so I made an excuse to hug him. I felt so much warmth for him after doing the show."
Contrasting On-Screen and Off-Screen Parenting Approaches
Interestingly, Surinder Vicky's real-life parenting philosophy sharply contrasts with the demanding character he plays on screen. The actor revealed that he does not pressure his own daughters regarding their career choices, though he does encourage their interest in acting when it arises.
He elaborated on his daughters' aspirations, sharing, "My younger daughter wants to become a doctor, but I tell her that she should try acting. My elder daughter has done a Punjabi film. She asks me if she should continue and I encourage her. My name may help her a bit. Ananya Panday and so many star daughters are doing it. So, why not my daughters?" This supportive attitude highlights his belief in allowing his children to pursue their own passions while being open to the entertainment industry.
As Surinder Vicky transitions from the intense world of 'Kohrra' to the familial emotions of 'Shabad—Reet Aur Riwaaz,' his career continues to evolve with diverse and meaningful roles. His candid reflections about missing the second season of the hit series demonstrate professional maturity, while his enthusiasm for his current project reveals an actor deeply committed to exploring human relationships through his craft.
