In a heartfelt post on a photo-sharing application, Ghai candidly shared that he was actually shivering with nervousness on the release day of 'Kalicharan'. He described this period as being at a crossroads in his life, with a decade of prior hardship in acting and scriptwriting for others culminating in this single moment. Ghai penned, "I was at cross road of my life 50 years back on this day of release of my first film as a director of KALICHARAN and was shivering because I had passed ten years of my hardship in acting and writing scripts for others."
The filmmaker emphasized that this release was crucial, representing the culmination of his ten years of relentless hard work and dedication to the film industry. He expressed immense gratitude to his entire 'Kalicharan' team, including producers, actors, co-writers, and technicians, who supported his vision despite his lack of directorial experience at the time.
