The ace singer, along with the lead cast of 'Border 2', arrived in Jaisalmer on January 2. The core event was the grand launch of the film's song, titled 'Ghar Kab Aaoge', held in a powerful setting at the India-Pakistan border in Jaisalmer. The launch took place in an auditorium facing the revered Tanot Mata Temple, illuminated by fireworks and attended by a contingent of Border Security Force (BSF) jawans.
The evening commenced on a culturally rich note with artists delivering a mesmerizing performance of the famous Rajasthani folk song 'Kesariya Balam Aao Ni Padharo Mhare Desh', which was warmly received by the audience. This was followed by the screening of the emotionally charged 'Ghar Kab Aaoge', setting a solemn and patriotic mood. Stars including Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan were present in Jaisalmer for this special launch.
Sonu Nigam's Nostalgic Tribute to 'Sandese Aate Hai'
Addressing the gathered BSF soldiers, Sonu Nigam was overcome with emotion as he recalled his deep connection with the original 1997 war film 'Border'. He specifically mentioned the iconic song 'Sandese Aate Hai', which he recorded in 1995.
"This song (Sandese Aate Hai), this film (Border), this team has been a very auspicious team for me. I still haven't forgotten," said Nigam. He revealed that the song was a major turning point in his career, "I used to get songs then but not such important songs. This song gave me the title of a serious singer for the first time. People believed in me because of this song." He emphasized that the track, sung 30 years ago, first established his credibility as a profound vocalist in the industry.
