Renowned Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam recently met Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal to discuss the establishment of 'Sangeet Dwar', a single-window platform for music licensing. The meeting, which also included devotional singer Anup Jalota and other prominent figures from the music, event, and hotel industry, was highlighted by Nigam in an Instagram post.

In his Instagram post, Sonu Nigam shared pictures from the meeting and wrote, "A monumental meet to discuss the establishment of Sangeet Dvar with Honourable and Dynamic Minister Piyush Goyal, Anup Jalota, Sanjay Tandon and the most prominent voices from the music, event and hotel industry of India." The initiative, led by the Indian music industry earlier this year, aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for Ease of Doing Business.
What is Sangeet Dwar?
'Sangeet Dwar' is a window for music licensing led by IPRS, Novex, PPL, RMPL, and ISAMRA, with support from key industry bodies like NRAI, EEMA, and FHRAI. It aims to build a more efficient and transparent ecosystem for music licensing. According to an official post by T-Series, "Sangeet Dwar is a single-window platform for music licensing with the support of DPIIT and Ministry of Information & Broadcasting."
T-Series also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his vision and leadership, stating, "Sangeet Dwar reflects the industry's collective commitment to a more streamlined and transparent licensing ecosystem."
Sonu Nigam's Current Projects
On the work front, Sonu Nigam has been busy with his musical tour, performing across the country. He recently lent his voice to the song 'Suno Naa Dil' from the film 'Daadi Ki Shaadi'. The song features the soulful voices of Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan, with music composed by Gulraj Singh and lyrics by Manoj Yadav.
