Shubhangi Atre Reveals Driving Vintage Ambassador on Mussoorie Hills for Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain Film
Shubhangi Atre Drives Vintage Ambassador in Mussoorie for Film

Ahead of the theatrical release of 'Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain: Fun On The Run' this Friday, actor Shubhangi Atre has revealed one of the most demanding and unforgettable moments from the film's production: navigating an ageing Ambassador car through the treacherous mountain roads of Mussoorie.

From Small Screen to Big Screen Adventure

The upcoming cinematic release represents the official big-screen expansion of the immensely popular television sitcom 'Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain', transporting the beloved residents of the fictional Modern Colony to theaters nationwide. While the franchise has built its reputation on clever situational comedy and razor-sharp dialogue, Atre's behind-the-scenes narrative demonstrates how the production scaled up the humor for cinematic proportions.

The Vintage Vehicle Challenge

Recalling the filming experience, Atre described the yellow Ambassador car she was tasked with driving as "very old" and particularly unsuited for the challenging hill terrain. "The condition of the car was... interesting," Atre disclosed during an interview with ANI. "It was a very old Ambassador and it didn't have proper brakes."

She elaborated on the initial apprehension, stating, "I had to drive that car on the mountains of Mussoorie. As soon as I landed in Dehradun, the Assistant Directors team asked me if I knew how to drive. When they pointed to the Ambassador, I was skeptical, but we made it work."

Safety Preparations and Production Measures

To guarantee safety throughout the shooting process, the production team implemented multiple precautionary measures. They conducted numerous practice sessions around their hotel premises until the crew felt confident in Atre's capability to handle the vintage automobile. This careful preparation allowed the challenging sequence to be captured successfully without compromising security.

Expanding the Beloved Franchise

Directed by Shashank Bali, the film amplifies the cherished rivalry between characters Vibhuti Narayan Mishra (portrayed by Aasif Sheikh) and Manmohan Tiwari (played by Rohitashv Gour) to a grander cinematic scale. The plot follows the duo as they embark on a journey with each other's wives, only to encounter interference from two brothers named Shanti and Kranti, who attempt to marry Anita and Angoori.

Star-Studded Cast and Special Appearances

This film serves as the official cinematic extension of the sitcom, featuring the original core ensemble including Vidisha Srivastava as Anita Bhabhi. The production further enhances its star power with special appearances by prominent actors Ravi Kishan, Mukesh Tiwari, and Dinesh Lal Yadav (known as Nirahua), adding additional appeal for audiences familiar with these performers.

The transition from television to cinema represents a significant milestone for the franchise, bringing its distinctive brand of humor to a broader audience while maintaining the elements that made the original series so popular among viewers across India.
