Shraddha Kapoor Demands Early Release of Dhurandhar 2 After Film Crosses Rs 379 Cr
Shraddha Kapoor Praises Dhurandhar, Wants Sequel Sooner

Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor has joined the chorus of praise for the blockbuster film Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh. However, her admiration comes with a playful complaint directed at the film's director, Aditya Dhar, about the long wait for the sequel.

Shraddha's Playful Plea on Instagram

On Monday, December 16, 2025, Shraddha Kapoor took to her Instagram stories to share her review after watching the gangster saga. In a series of posts, she expressed her overwhelming reaction to the film. "Truly terrible of Aditya Dhar to make a film like Dhurandhar," she wrote on her first slide, immediately grabbing attention.

The subsequent slide revealed the real reason behind her 'terrible' remark. "and then make us wait three months for Part 2. Don't play with our emotions, prepone the release please," she urged. Kapoor described the movie as a "phenomenal experience" and stated that had she not had an early morning shoot the next day, she would have gone to watch it again immediately.

Box Office Triumph and Industry Acclaim

Shraddha Kapoor's reaction mirrors the film's monumental success. Within just 11 days of its release, Dhurandhar has grossed a staggering Rs 379.75 crore at the box office and is swiftly approaching the Rs 400 crore milestone. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has garnered widespread appreciation from across the film industry.

A long list of celebrities, including Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Allu Arjun, Karan Johar, and Anupam Kher, have publicly applauded the film for its grand scale and compelling storytelling. Shraddha Kapoor is the latest A-lister to add her voice to this growing acclaim.

Standing Against Negativity and Looking Ahead

In another Instagram story, Shraddha also commended Yami Gautam, Aditya Dhar's wife, for her support. She praised Gautam for calling out the "rampant negative PR machinery" and manufactured controversies that surrounded the film's release. "Dhurandhar endured it all and came out shining. No bad force can pull a good film down. In audiences, we trust," Kapoor wrote.

Director Aditya Dhar responded to Shraddha's stories by reposting them and sending her "lots of love." The film, despite its commercial and critical success, has not been without debate. Actor Hrithik Roshan earlier shared a nuanced review, appreciating the craft but disagreeing with its politics, which sparked discussions on social media.

With the audience and industry's massive endorsement, all eyes are now on Part 2 of Dhurandhar, which is slated for an Eid 2026 release. However, if Shraddha Kapoor's request is heeded, fans might not have to wait that long.
