Shatner Criticizes Star Trek, Offers to Take Over Series

Veteran actor William Shatner recently shared his thoughts about the latest Star Trek shows. He is best known for playing Captain James T. Kirk in the original Star Trek series. Shatner addressed criticism that modern versions of the franchise have been facing.

Shatner's Social Media Post About Star Trek

William Shatner made a post on social media about the newest Star Trek interpretation. The show is called 'Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.' Politician Stephen Miller had earlier posted a note on his account. Miller suggested the series could be saved if Shatner returned and took over the story.

Shatner replied to Miller's post. He stated, "I am so on the same page with you @StephenM! The fact that they have not cure Hyperopia by the 32rd Century is an abysmal oversight on the writers!"

Criticism of Production Details

His post also contained some criticism about the series. Shatner cited that the production house responsible should "up the budget because I'm sure that a well-oiled organization like Starfleet in the distant future could afford more than one pair of glasses for at least this hyperopic bridge crew."

He joked about how, in the show, the glasses might be passed around between people as they drive the ship. This comment highlighted what he sees as a lack of attention to detail in the production.

Ready to Take Command

Expressing his desire to take over the franchise and storyline once more, Shatner stated, "I am ready to assume command of the series! Call me!" This declaration shows his ongoing passion for the Star Trek universe and his willingness to step back into a leadership role.
