Former Bollywood actress Sana Khan has finally broken her silence on persistent rumors about her marriage to Islamic scholar Mufti Anas Sayed. In a candid podcast appearance, the 37-year-old star revealed that her wedding remained a closely guarded secret until the actual ceremony day.
Sana Khan Dismisses Brainwashing Allegations
Sana Khan firmly rejected claims that she was brainwashed into leaving her entertainment career. She emphasized that her decision to marry Mufti Anas Sayed came entirely from her own desires and convictions.
"Nobody can brainwash you, unless you want it yourself," Sana declared during her conversation with actor Rashami Desai. "A person might have wealth, fame, and respect, but everyone seeks inner peace. Most women dream of marriage, a caring husband, children, and a home. I simply followed these natural desires."
The Secret Wedding Arrangements
Sana shared fascinating details about how she kept her marriage plans completely confidential. Only her parents knew about the groom's identity before the wedding day.
"When our marriage was finalized, it became a top secret," she explained. "Nobody else knew, not even the groom's name. During my mehndi application, the artist asked for his name. I told her to leave it blank and we would write it later."
Wedding guests discovered who she was marrying only when they arrived for the ceremony. Sana intentionally concealed these details to prevent outside influence on her decision.
Career Transformation and Personal Journey
The actress described this period as one of significant personal transformation. She made the life-changing decision to leave showbiz at the peak of her career, starring in projects like Jai Ho and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
"Major changes were happening in my life," Sana recalled. "I was literally becoming a different person. This transformation wasn't caused by my husband. It was something I wanted for myself. He simply guided me in that direction."
She first announced her departure from the entertainment industry in October 2020 through an Instagram post. Sana stated she wanted to "serve humanity and follow my Creator's orders." She married Mufti Anas Sayed on November 21, 2020.
Financial Aspects and Family Support
Sana revealed interesting details about the wedding expenses. Her husband took care of nearly all arrangements except for one personal element.
"I paid for my own mehndi," she shared. "But everything else - the nikah ceremony, accommodation for my family, food, and the reception - was handled by my husband."
Responding to Criticism and Online Commentary
The former Bigg Boss 6 contestant addressed the criticism she has faced since her marriage. She acknowledged that her previous environment might have influenced poorer decisions.
"When your surroundings aren't right, your decisions tend to be wrong too," Sana reflected. "As time passed, I learned valuable lessons. That's why I cherish my relationship so deeply. I keep telling my husband I could never have found anyone better. It was a difficult decision, but I embraced it completely."
