Sana Khan Opens Up About Leaving Bollywood for Spiritual Life

Former actress Sana Khan recently made a candid appearance on a podcast with Rashami Desai. She shared intimate details about her decision to leave the entertainment industry completely in 2020. Khan first gained major public recognition through her participation in Bigg Boss season 6.

The Decision to Quit Showbiz

Sana Khan shocked her fans and the industry when she announced her departure from showbiz three years ago. She stated her primary motivation was to serve humanity and follow her spiritual path. The actress emphasized this was a personal choice driven by her own desires.

"This was not something caused by my husband," Khan clarified during the podcast conversation. "It was something I wanted for myself. He was the one who guided me in that direction."

Addressing Rumors and Industry Reactions

Khan directly addressed persistent rumors suggesting her husband Mufti Anas Sayed had brainwashed her into leaving her career. She firmly called these claims false and misleading. The former actress revealed a more painful consequence of her decision.

Many friends from the entertainment industry began distancing themselves after learning about her choice. Khan expressed her disappointment about these changing relationships.

"People distanced themselves from me when they found out," she shared. "Then I realized these were fake relationships. If they were real, they would have supported me whether I was like this or like that."

She continued with visible emotion, "Maybe they think something or maybe they don't. But I used to wonder why these people are not in touch with me anymore."

Secret Wedding and Personal Transformation

Sana Khan married Muslim cleric Mufti Anas Sayed on November 21, 2020. She described how they kept their wedding plans completely secret. Only her parents knew about the groom's identity before the ceremony.

"When our marriage was finalized, it was top secret," Khan revealed. "Nobody knew except for my mom and dad. Nobody even knew the groom's name."

She shared an amusing anecdote from her mehndi ceremony. The mehndi artist asked for the groom's name to include in the design. Khan told her to leave it blank, saying they would write it next time instead.

The actress described this period as one of major personal transformation. She was literally becoming a different person through this spiritual journey. Khan emphasized this transformation came from within herself rather than external pressure.

Her story highlights the challenges public figures face when making dramatic life changes. It also shows how personal relationships can shift when someone leaves a high-profile industry for spiritual pursuits.
