Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda Host Intimate Family Wedding in Coorg
A month after their grand destination wedding in Rajasthan, Bollywood stars Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda returned to their roots for a more personal and grounded celebration. The couple traveled to Coorg, specifically to Rashmika's hometown of Virajpet, to host an intimate family gathering with close relatives and friends.
Arrival and Family Gathering
Accompanied by their parents, the couple arrived in Mysuru on April 5 before making the scenic drive to Virajpet. Rashmika's parents, Madan and Suma, alongside Vijay's parents, Madhavi and Govardhan Rao, were present for the heartfelt occasion. On Monday evening, Rashmika's family hosted a private dinner at Serenity Hall, a venue owned by the Mandanna family in Virajpet.
Elegant Decor and Down-to-Earth Atmosphere
The décor at Serenity Hall was described as simple yet elegant, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance. Rashmika and Vijay entered the venue hand in hand, radiating joy and humility. Guests noted that both stars were extremely down-to-earth, mingling effortlessly with everyone present.
A guest shared, "Vijay was introduced to all the attendees and remained gracious throughout the evening. It was a proud moment for our community, who affectionately call Rashmika 'nangada Modi' (our girl)."
Traditional Customs and Cultural Embrace
In keeping with local customs, the couple cut a layered cake, a symbolic gesture in Kodava traditions. Rashmika looked resplendent in a traditional Kodava sari, adorned with a pathaak (thali) and kokke thaathi (customary jewellery). She addressed the gathering in Kodava Thakk, expressing gratitude for the community's support and seeking their blessings.
"I've got you all a handsome maima (son-in-law)," Rashmika said with a smile, eliciting loud cheers from the audience.
Vijay's Connection to Coorg
Vijay Deverakonda also spoke a few lines in Kodava Thakk, showcasing his respect for his wife's heritage. He concluded the evening by expressing his eagerness to explore Coorg more deeply and learn about Kodava traditions, emphasizing his commitment to embracing his new family's culture.
This intimate celebration highlighted the couple's dedication to honoring their roots while sharing their joy with loved ones, blending Bollywood glamour with heartfelt tradition.
