Ram Charan is currently working with director Buchi Babu Sana on their upcoming sports action drama, ‘Peddi’. The film has faced multiple delays due to unfinished post-production work and the shooting of a special song. Now, the team has encountered another setback. According to the latest reports, a 53-second clip from the song has been leaked online.
Leak Origin Traced to Playback Monitor
As per a report in Mid-day, a 53-second video from the song was leaked on April 27. After it surfaced online, the team was stunned, as such leaks usually occur during the post-production stage. However, the leaked clip appears to have been recorded by someone using a playback monitor. The clip was circulated across fan pages, Telegram groups, and on X (formerly Twitter), catching the team off guard. In response, the makers removed over 400 links from social media platforms. It is further reported that the makers' legal and digital teams are currently addressing the issue.
About the Special Song
The leaked song is a high-octane dance number featuring Ram Charan opposite an actress other than Janhvi Kapoor, who plays the female lead in the film. Several actresses, including Mrunal Thakur, Samyuktha, and others, were considered for the role. Ultimately, the makers finalized Shruti Haasan as the best fit for the song. The shooting of the song had begun only earlier that day on a specially constructed set in Janwada, near Hyderabad.
About ‘Peddi’ Cast
The film also features Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, and Boman Irani in key roles. The music is composed by AR Rahman. ‘Peddi’ is announced to hit theaters in June 2026.
